Deleting Broken Links

This article shows how to completely delete broken links from the app list and its redirects from your Shopify admin.

Updated today

Broken links are URLs that lead to error pages instead of the intended content. In most cases, users encounter messages like “404 Not Found” or “This site can’t be reached.” These errors typically occur when someone attempts to access a page that no longer exists, has been moved without proper redirection, or when an incorrect URL is entered.

Booster SEO allows you to delete broken links that it has detected throughout your site. This will enable you to manage your site more easily since it will only list down new broken links that the app has detected and resolved after you delete the previous ones.

NOTE: Deleting the broken links from the app section will only remove them from the list. To completely remove the broken links and their redirects, you have to delete them from your Shopify admin.

Deleting broken links from the list on the app

  1. Launch the app and click Broken Links on the left navigation bar.

You will be taken to the page where all broken links that have been detected and resolved by the app are listed.

2. Select the link you want to delete, click the Actions drop-down menu, and choose Delete. You can delete one item at a time.

3. You can also opt to delete all items on the list at once by clicking the Delete All button.

4. Click Yes, delete all on the pop-up window.

The list will now be empty. When the app detects new broken links again, it will automatically resolve them and list them on this page.

Deleting broken links from the Shopify admin

  1. On your Shopify admin, click Content, then go to Menus.

  2. Click URL redirects.

  3. Select a URL redirect by ticking the box, then click Delete selected redirects. You can select multiple redirects at a time.

  4. Click Delete on the pop-up window.

  5. All redirects will now be cleared out.
